News for Cheshire

News for Cheshire is the blog of the campaign to get the BBC news website to provide dedicated news coverage of our county, which it doesn't do. Currently, users of the BBC's news website have to hunt on the pages for Merseyside, Manchester and Staffordshire if they want Cheshire news. Other contributors are welcome, just get in touch if you'd like to write for the campaign.

Back in the news!

Well, knock us down with a quill - Chester is back in the news on the the BBC website!

In the interim, there have been the occasional stories of car crashes in Widnes, which don't really count, so it was a relief to see this, even if it was about the past.

Meanwhile, plenty of local stories are causing waves in Chester, none of which seem worthy of coverage by Aunty.

The row over the state of our wonderful Walls, which has had plenty of coverage in the local press.

The row over Quinn Glass, rumbling on endlessly, although the latest is that planning permission has been refused.

Just two of the hot topics in the county's capital...
